Community
Kin means we look after each other.
Pack and Kin began as one family-owned store. It grew into a network because owners, neighbors and the people who work the counter do better when they are connected. That is the whole point of the name.
The KINSHIP Program
Empowering success, together.
KINSHIP is our workforce development program for current and former foster youth and low-income young people facing barriers to education, training and work.
Over several months, participants learn on the job in network workplaces — helping customers, working with real business technology, and building the skills that carry into any career. Then we use our partner businesses to help place them in stable jobs, and stay in touch for up to eighteen months.
Personalized support
Training shaped around each participant’s own goals.
Learning by doing
Hands-on experience in real workplaces and with real tools.
Career placement
Introductions to employers across the network’s partners.
Follow-through
Check-ins for up to eighteen months after the program.
Why we do it
Our founder found stability through a community program before entering foster care. KINSHIP is how we pay that forward — through internships, mentorship, training and jobs.
