Pack and Kin Studio

Point of sale

Shipping store POS software

A register built for a pack-and-ship counter. Shipping, boxes and packing ring up as lines on the same ticket and are paid in one payment, on the free plan.

The Pack and Kin Studio register with packing, notary and copy services in the cart, quick keys on the left and the sale total on the right.

A register that knows it is a shipping store

A general retail register sells items off a shelf. A shipping counter also rates parcels, buys labels, rents boxes and takes drop-offs, and the customer still expects one receipt. In Pack and Kin Studio the label, the box, the packing and the notary stamp are lines on the same ticket.

What the counter gets on the free plan

  • Point of sale and cash drawer
  • Quick keys for the services you sell most
  • Park and recall a sale
  • Merchandise returns and store credit
  • Split tender and email receipts
  • Age and ID verification
  • Live scale weight
  • Reporting and day close, with unlimited staff logins

Every sale posts to a built-in general ledger, so the books keep up with the register. Add-on packs cover what most stores never need; pricing lists each one.

Part of the whole counter

The same system rates USPS, UPS and FedEx side by side and runs mailbox rentals and CMRA paperwork, so a customer’s parcel, box renewal and copies are one sale. Switching from another system? See how we compare.

Questions

What store owners ask first

Does the register work with a shipping scale?
Yes. Live scale weight is on the free plan, so a connected scale reads the parcel’s weight instead of someone typing it.
How do I pay for shipping labels?
From a prepaid wallet on your account. Pack and Kin Studio fronts each label at purchase and takes it from that balance, which also means a label cannot be bought against an empty wallet. Funding it is the one setup step between your first sign-in and your first label.
Which carriers can I ship with?
USPS, UPS and FedEx: rating, label purchase, voids, return labels and claims on all three. We would rather name three carriers that work than a longer list that does not.
Is it really free?
The plan is. You pay for the labels you buy, any add-on pack you deliberately switch on, storage beyond the free 1 GB, and a fee when you top up your shipping wallet with a credit card, shown before you confirm it. There is no card to enter to apply, and nothing expires.
How do I get started?
Request an invite. Our team reviews every application, sets your store up with you, and emails your sign-in. Then fund the wallet and ring the first sale.

The rest of the counter

The register, the three carriers, mailboxes and the books share one set of records on the free plan; kiosks are an add-on.
